Dr. Fay has been performing high volumes of vasectomies since 2016. Initially in Edinburgh (Scotland), followed by Prince Edward Island, and North Peace Region of BC, before settling in Port Moody in late 2024. To date he has performed more than 4,500 vasectomies. He currently performs approximately 30 procedures per week.
A vasectomy is a permanent, safe, and effective form of birth control. It works by blocking sperm from entering the semen while keeping the semen’s volume and appearance unchanged. The procedure is quick, taking approximately 10 minutes under local anesthesia, with a total clinic visit lasting less than an hour.
The no-scalpel vasectomy involves making small openings in the scrotum to access the vas deferens, which is then sealed off to prevent sperm from entering the semen. The no-needle, no-scalpel vasectomy is even less invasive, using a topical spray anesthetic instead of a needle. It requires only a single opening, results in faster healing, and has fewer complications. Both techniques effectively prevent sperm passage while keeping semen unchanged.
